One of the biggest lies I used to believe about online business was that everyone had hours of free time every day. Because that’s not my reality at all. I’m balancing a full-time job, motherhood, caregiving, responsibilities at home, everyday life , and trying to build a business at the same time.
So for a long time, I kept thinking, “Maybe I just don’t have enough time for this.” But eventually, I realized something important. Most people are not building their businesses in perfect conditions. A lot of us are building during lunch breaks, late nights, weekends, parking lots, and tiny pockets of free time throughout the day. That realization changed my mindset. Because instead of asking “How do I find hours every day?” So I started asking, “How can I use the time I already have better?”
And that’s what’s been helping me lately.
One thing I’ve stopped doing is putting pressure on myself to do everything at once. Now I focus on smaller actions like posting one piece of content, writing one email, brainstorming one idea, and improving one thing at a time. Because honestly? Small, consistent actions add up. Especially when life already feels full. I Use My Phone More Than My Laptop
A lot of people assume online business requires a huge professional setup. But some of my best ideas happen on my phone. I use my Notes app constantly for content ideas, hooks, captions, blog ideas, and reminders. Sometimes I’ll think of an idea while driving or sitting in a parking lot before work. And instead of waiting for the “perfect time,” I write it down immediately.
That’s helped me stay more consistent.
Sometimes you just need someone to help simplify the next steps. My Quickstart Strategy Call was created for beginners who feel stuck or overwhelmed
This one slowed me down for a long time. I kept thinking I need better branding, I need more knowledge, I need more confidence, and I need more time. But honestly? I think a lot of beginners stay stuck waiting for ideal conditions that may never fully come. At some point, I had to start imperfectly.
And I’m still learning in real time.
One thing that’s helping me the most right now is simplifying everything. I realized pretty quickly that I don’t need complicated funnels, dozens of platforms, or overwhelming systems. I need tools that realistically fit my life. That’s one reason I started using MailerLite: I wanted email marketing, landing pages, a website, and newsletters without needing five different subscriptions.
Keeping things simple has honestly helped me stay more consistent, mentally.
30 Minutes Is Still Progress
This is probably the biggest mindset shift I’ve had recently. Thirty minutes may not feel like a lot in one day. But over time? It adds up. And consistency matters more than perfection. Especially for beginners.
Final Thoughts:
If you feel like you don’t have enough time to build an online business, I just want you to know. You are not behind. A lot of people are trying to build something better while balancing real-life responsibilities, too. You do not need perfect conditions to start. You just need consistency, a simple plan, and the willingness to use the time you do have. Even if it’s just 30 minutes at a time.
