THE SIMPLE ONLINE BUSINESS TOOLS I ACTUALLY USE AS A BEGINNER

The Simple Online Business Tools I Actually Use as a Beginner

One of the biggest things that overwhelmed me when I first started trying to build an income online was how many tools people said I needed. Everywhere I looked, someone was recommending another subscription, platform, or expensive software. And honestly? It started making online business feel more complicated than it needed to be.

As a single mom balancing a full-time job, family responsibilities, caregiving, and everyday life, I knew I needed to keep things simple. I didn’t want a business that required complicated systems,  expen-sive monthly costs, or hours trying to figure everything out. So instead, I focused on tools that felt much more beginner- friendly,  affordable, simple to learn, and realistic for my lifestyle

These are the tools I’m personally using right now while building my business from $0.

  • MailerLite

One of the biggest things I’m focusing on right now is building my email list. I realized pretty quickly that social media platforms can change at any time, but your email list is something you actually own. That’s why I decided to start using MailerLite. What I personally like about it simple website builder, landing pages, email automations, clean design, beginner-friendly setup, and affordable pricing

As someone already balancing a lot mentally, I didn’t need another complicated platform. I needed something that helped me organize my emails, grow my audience, create landing pages, send newsletters, and keep everything simple

And it’s been one of the easiest tools for me to learn so far.

I’m also learning more about Leadpages because I really like how focused it is on lead generation and simple landing pages. One thing I’m realizing while building online is that growing an audience is important, but having a place to actually capture leads matters too.

That’s where landing pages become really helpful. Especially for freebies, email signups, digital products and simple funnels. I still prefer keeping my systems simple, but I can already see why so many online businesses use platforms like Leadpages to help grow their audience.

      • Stan Store

When I first started selling digital products, I wanted something easy to set up without needing a full website. That’s what initially drew me to Stan Store. I liked that it allowed beginners to sell digital products, organize links, create a simple storefront, and start quickly.

As I continue building my business, I’m simplifying some of my systems, but Stan Store helped me understand the basics of selling online as a beginner.

      • Typeform

One thing I’ve learned while building online is that forms and automation can make your business feel much more organized. That’s why I’ve been exploring Typeform. I really like how clean and simple the forms look compared to traditional forms online.

It’s helpful for things like surveys, applications, onboarding,  lead generation, and collecting feedback. And honestly, beginner-friendly design matters more than people realize. Simple experiences make people more likely to engage.

      • My Phone + Notes App

One of my biggest business tools right now is still my phone. A lot of my ideas happen during everyday life while driving, during lunch breaks, sitting in parking lots, before bed, and between responsibilities. I use my Notes app constantly for hooks,  captions, blog ideas, content planning, and reminders. And I think more beginners need to hear this. You do not need a perfect setup to begin.

A lot of people delay starting because they think they need expensive equipment, fancy cameras, multiple monitors, and complicated systems. But honestly? Most of us just need a simple place to start.

      Final Thoughts:

One thing I’m learning while building this business is that simplicity matters more than trying to look advanced. Especially as a beginner. You don't need dozens of tools, expensive subscriptions, or the “perfect” setup. You just need a simple system, consistency, and tools that realistically fit your life. That’s what I’m focusing on right now.  Keeping things simple has helped me stay consistent more than anything else.
