A month ago, I honestly had no idea where this journey would go. I just knew I was tired of overthinking everything, consuming endless information, and staying stuck in “planning mode.”
So I decided. I was going to start showing up consistently, even if everything wasn’t perfect. And that decision alone has taught me SO much already. Not just about affiliate marketing. But about myself too.
Lesson #1: Clarity Comes from Action
One thing I’ve realized quickly is that clarity does NOT magically appear before you start. It comes FROM starting. At first, I kept thinking I needed the perfect niche, content, branding, or confidence.
But after posting consistently for a month, I realized.
The more I create, the clearer my message becomes. That’s been one of the biggest mindset shifts for me recently.
Lesson #2: Consistency Matters More Than Perfection
This one has probably been the hardest lesson emotionally. Because perfectionism can make you feel like your content isn’t good enough, your videos aren’t polished enough, or your graphics aren’t professional enough. But people connect with REALNESS. Especially beginners.
I think a lot of people online are tired of overly polished content that feels disconnected from real life. And as a busy mom balancing work and responsibilities, I simply do not have the energy to chase perfection every day.
What I CAN do is show up consistently. And that’s been enough.
Lesson #3: Simplicity Is Helping Me Stay Consistent
I’ve also learned that overcomplicated systems drain me VERY quickly. The more tools, platforms, subscriptions, and complicated strategies I tried to juggle. I felt more overwhelmed. That’s why I’ve been simplifying everything lately.
One tool that’s genuinely helped me keep things organized as a beginner has been MailerLite because I can send emails, build landing pages, create my website, and grow my email list. All in one place without feeling overwhelmed.
If you’re building an online business, starting your email list early matters more than most beginners realize, and MailerLite makes it easy to start.
Lesson #4: Growth Feels Slower When You’re In It
I think social media sometimes makes it seem like everyone grows overnight. But real growth usually feels slower while you’re experiencing it. Especially in the beginning.
There were days I questioned if anyone cared, if my content was helping, or if I was wasting my time. But looking back now? I can already see growth in my confidence, in my messaging, in my consistency, and in my mindset. Even before major results happen financially.
And that matters, too.
Lesson #5: Beginners Need Encouragement More Than Hype
One thing I’ve realized about my audience is that people are exhausted. Especially busy moms. A lot of beginners don’t need more pressure, more complicated strategies, or more fake “overnight success” promises. They need encouragement, clarity, realistic guidance, and someone who feels relatable. And that’s the kind of content I want to continue creating.
Final Thoughts:
This first month taught me something important
You don’t need perfect conditions to begin building something better for yourself. You just need consistency, patience, and the willingness to keep learning in real time
Even if you feel nervous, behind, or if you’re still figuring things out. Because I still am, too 🤍
